Dr.Lori Good  received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology at UCSD and her Doctoral Degree at UCSF in 1985. She worked for two years at a Rincon Indian Reservation in San Diego before returning to USC in order to obtain her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Good is on staff at San Diego Children's Hospital and has experience treating children with special needs, including Cleft Lip/Palate and other craniofacial anomalies/syndromes. Lori is married to Dr Martin Thurston, an Orthodontist, and partner in our practice. They have two wonderful daughters, Melissa and Jenna.

Dr. Good volunteers time in her daughter's schools and in her synagogue where she chairs the Social Action Committee. She loves to read, jog, cycle and spend time with her family.

Michael J. Amodeo, DDS

Dr.Michael Amodeo was born in Brooklyn, New York, but as a young child his family relocated to the San Diego area. He was raised in Rancho Bernardo & graduated from our local Poway High School. Michael obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara and went on to pursue his Dental degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. Upon completing his Doctoral Degree at UCLA he spent two more years at UCLA completing his residency in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Amodeo had the opportunity to serve as Chief Resident during his residency at UCLA.

After completing his residency, Dr. Amodeo decided to return to his hometown of Rancho Bernardo with his wife Rachela, whom he met during his undergraduate studies at UCSB. Dr. Amodeo and his wife now have two young sons, Nicolas ("Nico") and Jack. They are enjoying raising their two sons in the same town Dr. Amodeo grew up in. Michael feels privileged to be able to give back to a community that has been able to afford him this opportunity. In addition to spending time with his Family, Dr. Amodeo also enjoys exercise, sports, and cooking.

Christy Lam, DDS

Dr.Christy Lam was born in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated to the US with her family in 1980. They obtained their citizenship not long after and established their home in the Los Angeles area.

After matriculating to USC in 1990 she focused her interest in the fields of science and mathematics. She was accepted into the undergraduate division of the USC School of Business and attained her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Finance in 1994 and 1995, respectively.

Christy attended Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago. She made the decision to specialize after treating the children of migrant farm workers in Boulder, Colorado, and received her specialty degree in Pediatric Dentistry from USC.

Dr. Lam is settling into her new home in Poway with her husband, Dr. Al Lin, a local practicing Oral Surgeon. She enjoys playing golf and preparing Vietnamese Cuisine.

Gordon H. Dixon, DDS, MS

Dr.Gordon Dixon was born in Canada and grew up in Santa Monica, California. He graduated form Santa Monica High receiving a scholarship to play college football. He graduated from UCLA in 1968. In the American Peace Corps, 1968-1970, he taught physical and biological sciences to College of Education students in Andrha Pradesh, India. At UCLA, Harbor General Hospital, Dr. Dixon completed a three-year fellowship and residency in Medical Genetics and Pediatric Dentistry. He is a graduate of the Straight Wire Orthodontic Program and completed a mini-residency in Esthetic Dentistry at UCLA.

Dr. Dixon opened his practice in Mira Mesa in 1979 and moved to the present location in Rancho Bernardo in 1994. Dr. Dixon is a lecturer at the UCLA School of Dentistry and is a clinical attending dentist within the Graduate Pediatric Dental Program.

He has served on the UCLA and SD Children's Hospital Cleft Palate team, CHHC trauma team, UCSD's craniofacial clinic and has helped the dental volunteer staff at the La Paz, Baja California Craniofacial interdisciplinary team. He is a Past Chairman of the San Diego Dental Society's Children's Dental Health Month and Past President of the San Diego Chapter of American Society of Dentistry for Children. He is a member of the Anderson Dental Center Staff at Children's Hospital.

Gordon is most proud of his wife Cathie, a dental hygienist, his son Bryce and his twin daughters, Hillary and Stephanie.

Dr. Dixon's interests include gardening and playing in the Men's Adult Baseball League.
